Actress Kaley Cuoco may come out on top with prenup

When two individuals are happily in love, signing a prenuptial agreement may seem like a mood killer. It’s not something many individuals want to discuss when they are finding a wedding venue, inviting guests and picking out their wedding colors. But as many cases have proven, taking that extra step can really be a smart decision in the long run.

Take, for example, actress Kaley Cuoco, who filed for divorce from her husband in late September. Her husband, tennis player Ryan Sweeting, is reportedly asking for spousal support. While this would make sense considering Cuoco’s net worth is about $42 million more than his net worth, he may not necessarily get what he wants. The two apparently only dated for six months before they tied the knot, but they did take the time to sign a prenuptial agreement. The agreement was signed more than one month before the wedding in 2013.

If the prenuptial agreement is found to be valid, the document will control how assets are distributed and if any spousal support is awarded. Sweeting is apparently not only asking for spousal support; he is also asking that Cuoco pay his legal fees related to the divorce. Unfortunately for him, it appears that the prenuptial agreement says each party will pay for their own legal fees.

It will be interesting to see if Sweeting gets any spousal support from Cuoco. If there are no issues with the validity of the prenuptial agreement, the document will dictate the final outcome.
