There have been quite a few notable celebrity divorce announcements this year, including Reba McEntire and her husband, Jennifer Garner and husband Ben Affleck, as well as Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert. Now, another well-known couple has put out a statement saying they are calling it quits.
Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale are two names that many alternative rock fans are familiar with. The two met in 1995 when their bands toured together. Rossdale was part of the band called Bush while Stefani was part of No Doubt. The two have been together for the last two decades. They dated for six years and have been married for 13 years. The two have three sons together, ages 9, 7 and 17 months.
At the beginning of this month, the couple announced that they plan to divorce in a statement to People Magazine. Although there is no way to tell for sure what the future will bring, it sounds like the couple plan to have an amicable divorce. They stated that they are committed to raising their sons together "in a happy and healthy environment."
In an interview earlier this year, Stefani, now 45, said that the two have been through so much and that it's a miracle they have been together for so long.
No matter how long two individuals were together, having to make the decision to divorce is a hard one. Many people seek out legal help early on in the process in order to understand what their options are and how to proceed.
